The pantheon of Team GBR’s famous winners such as Ben Ainslee, Dame Ellen Mcarthur and Helena Lucas MBE continues to grow and prosper. The Topper is seen as an integral part of the RYA’s ‘Youth Racing Programme’ which enables young British sailors talent to progress towards Olympic Classes sailing.
Many former Topper sailors are now members of their country’s Olympic Sailing Teams, including Giles Scott (Gold winner at Rio), Helena Lucas MBE (Gold in London and Bronze in Rio), Nicola Groves and Lorenzo Chiavarini (GBR), and Finn Lynch, Ryan Seaton and Analeise Murphy (Silver in Rio) from IRL.
